Ashlee's 4th birthday party went wondefully. Not as many came as first thought, but she still had a great time. Everyone loved the decorations and of course, her adorable outfit. She looked so cute in it. I forgot to get baby Emma ready in her dress, oops, but that is ok.

Here is my little one's outfit: My friend Rachel, from Brightly Colored Sparkles Boutique, made the shirt for me and I made the pants.

And here is a family picture. Yes we matched...because that is how I roll. lol

On the sewing front, I have about 20 squares together for my cousin's quilt, about 40 more to go before I can get the layout together. Good thing I have 7 months to finish it. lol

Back to sewing!!

Oh how I missed it. I haven't done much but it felt good to be creative again. I made a little blanket for my sister's coworker. It isn't the cutest thing, at least to me, but it is what she wanted.

I also made Ashlee's pants for her birthday outfit. Rachel is embroidering her shirt with the number 4 and her name on it. And I made baby Emma a dress to match...lol. I did ok with the dress. I just used her dress as a pattern. The sleeves are too tight but I haven't done sleeves before so I am ok with that. Here are some blurry pics of the projects. Haven't done pictures yet with my camera. lol

Wow, Blogger got better with the picture upload. Yay!

Sewing has stalled...

I haven't gotten to sew in weeks now. Jamie and I took a road trip to Reno, NV! He had a conference there so we decided to make it a vacation. We drove for 2 1/2 days to get there, stayed in Reno a week, then started our vacation home on Friday. We went to the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. Those were the only places we were saw since we decided to head home a couple of days soon. Oh well, we still have fun being together for a week and half! But it was a long time away from Little Bit! We surprised my mom and Ashlee by coming home earlier than they thought. Ashlee kept saying "You're home, you're back!" lol So cute. Since we came home early, Mom wanted to go back home so Dad came to get her. Jamie worked on his boat and I spent time with Ashlee. She hasn't left the house but once since we have been home. She got her bad cough again so she missed MDO yesterday. She seems to be getting some better...or at least not worse so I will let her got to MDO tomorrow since it is their Easter party, she missed pictures yesterday. :(

Today was the Easter Egg Hunt with the mom's group I joined. Ashlee had a great time and I had a good time meeting some new moms, though I mainly stayed with Ashlee. lol

I do have a few projects in the works but I have to find time to do them. I want to make Ashlee some pants for her birthday party. They will be denim with ruffles on the bottom. My friend Rachel is making her a shirt, embroidered. I also want to start Brandi's baby quilt...she is expecting baby #3 in Nov! I also need to try to finish Jamie's quilt. The lady I was going to embroider the last square was in a wreck so I may just have to find someone else (or talk Jamie into letting me get a cheap embroidery machine, wink wink). I also have some charms that I want to figure out a quilt or something for.

So that is where I am in the sewing area.

What a day...

Sadly my day started at 3am when I woke up and could not go back to sleep. So I headed to the living room with my tablet and surfed the web and played my game. Then comes 4am when Ashlee wakes up...she had been awake around 3am but kept playing Dada Bear. Guess neither one of us could go back to sleep. So she laid on the couch with me for a little while then I took her back to her room. She wanted to watch TV so I put in Calliou and got her a snack. Finally around 5am, we both were asleep. She slept in until 8:45am. The rain had started so of course when I let the dogs out to potty, they tracked mud all through the kitchen. Lovely! Then Ashlee spilt her cereal all in the floor, great. Then, yes another, I went to our bathroom only to see where one of the cats had thrown up all down the cabinet, toliet and into the floor. Just wonderful. Admist the chaos of the morning, I did get Ashlee's Easter skirt 95% done, needs elastic, and I got mine done also. I have just enough fabric left to make Ashlee's doll Emma a little dress so we all will match. Pictures will come later when they are done. For now, I am trying to figure out a top for us. Not sure if I want a cream color and add something to them or go with a color for a pop. Any thoughts...to anyone that actually reads my blog anymore? lol

So now I am trying to get Ashlee to take a nap because she is cranky and tired...as am I. Hurry home hubby! lol

Spring is almost here...

My entry into Sugar Bee Craft’s Celebrating Spring competition, sponsored by Appliances Online and Beko Fridge Freezers
At least the grass thinks so. With the mild winter, the flowers are blooming and the clovers are sprouting. Ashlee has had fun playing outside in the warmth...though the wind hasn't been very nice. Here is one of my favorite pictures I took of Ashlee while playing outside.
And being that I do digital scrapbooking, I did a layout with it.

So I made a purse...

from "Deploy that Fabric" by Jen Eskridge. Jamie got me the book for Christmas and I finally decided to try one of the projects. I had some leftover uniforms from his quilt so I found a small bag that I could use on our upcoming trip. It didn't take me too long...it was more of a stop and go since Little Bit is up...and a few seams had to be ripped out but that wasn't too bad. I used what I had here so it was tweaked a little. Instead of a magnetic clasp, I used velco from one of Jamie's uniforms and the lining is leftover bandana from when I redid the front room. The strap is the section of his buttons on the shirt, just put two sections together to make it long enough. Overall, I think it turned out pretty good, not the best by a long shot but I did kinda rush it some. But it will work for what I want it for.
Ok, could not find a pic online of hers so here is one I took from the book:
And sorry this isn't the best picture....but you get the idea:

Finally started Jamie's quilt

I had most of the squares cut out, just needed the desert which he couldn't find so I had to go with fabric from the store. :( Not the right kind, but he was ok with it. So I laid it all out and he decided to take out one row and add some other T-Shirts. I got all the squares sown into their rows and 2 of the 6 rows sown together. I am going to get the last square embroided with his Army stats on it. For the back, I am thinking a tan color and sewing on some of his old patches that are not on the quilt top.
Here is a rough draft of what it will look like:
